Singing Noel at Ayr ?

ayr.jpgAs noted last week in this eyecatcher thread, Hotham ran well over 5f at Musselburgh last week, meeting trouble in running at a crucial stage but running on well at the end of the race. Today he steps up to 6f and down in class in the 3:30 at Ayr so must have every chance of taking advantage of his lenient handicap mark, especially as a bit of rain is forecast. There are 8 runners and you can get 4/1 on Betfair which I think is a decent value bet in a fairly weak looking race.

The trainer Noel Wilson has a chance of a double with Ingleby Star in the 2:00 race at Ayr who seemed to appreciate the application of cheek-pieces. He has a 6lb penalty for his recent course and distance success but the decent apprentice Brian McHugh offsets that with his 5lb claim and at odds of 6/1 he is worth a win/place bet.

I’ll be back on Wednesday, good luck with your punting till then.
