Thursday FormBet Ratings

After much research on Wednesday going back over past results I have decided to incorporate the trainer and jockey figures into the overall ratings. I found not only that they produced more winners than the basic ratings but also maintained the high priced selections and even included a few that were not previously top-rated. I hope these will be the most reliable set of ratings yet.

Also included is a new column called cond for conditions. This is to highlight the top-3 runners that should be best suited to the day’s race conditions and takes into account performance on the course, distance, forecast going plus a few other factors incorporating best speed and form figure achieved in said conditions. Obviously a 3-star is a horse ideally suited to the race conditions and we are looking for one top-rated, 3* star on the conditions AND preferably clear of the 2nd on the ratings.

The next phase of the ratings will be to include the Betfair win/place odds of each runner but I need to work out a way to do that first as I’m still getting to grips with the API
