Champions Day at Ascot is the last official flat meeting at Ascot and signifies that the flat season is coming to an end. High class races at it's best with over £4M up for grabs it certainly attracts the best flat horses this season.
I'm going to go through summarized trends pick for each race
Long Distance Cup (Group 2) 16f
The trends for this race from 9 known trends point to these
7 – CLEVER COOKIE, PALLASATOR and WICKLOW BRAVE
6 – AGENT MURPHY, CLONDAW WARRIOR, FLYING OFFICER, FORGOTTEN RULES and SUEGIOO
4 – LITIGANT AND SIMENON
Career best runners lto are Forgotten Rules and Litigant, with Litigant being the overall form, probability and speed horse in the field, followed by Forgotten Rules as the highest ability.
For the best profile horses look we Pallasator, Litigant and Suegioo who has a weight advantage and has been left alone by the BHA.
A very very tough call as the trends analysis do not show a clear leader, however, my cross analysis does, and points to Forgotten Rules
British Champion Sprint Stakes (Group 1) 6f
From a potential trends score of 12
9 – EASTERN IMPACT, MUHAARAR
8 – EMPEROR MAX, NAADIR, STRATH BURN, TWILIGHT SUN
7 – ADDAY, HEAVENS GUEST.
From and speed horses here are both Strath Burn and Twilight Son, both having career bests lto, both running faster than class but have huge rises in the to overcome.
This now leaves me a dilemma of do I go for the recommended draw or the horse with the best profile, of eqully matched horses with a decent amount of speed and not punished by the BHA; Muhaarar, Eastern Impact or Naadir?
You cannot argue with Group 1 winning form, so the choice is Muhaarar, the other two are worthy each way bets.
British Champions Fillies and Mares Stakes (Group 1) 12f
From 8 trends
7 – CANDARLIYA, COVERT LOVE, SIMPLE VERSE, SPEED BOARDING
6 – JOURNEY, SEA CALISI
This one for me is simple, scoring 5 out of 6 in Sad Ken Analysis; SIMPLE VERSE.
Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (Group 1) 8f
From trends of 12
8 – GLENEAGLES, SOLOW
7 – TERRITORIES
Another race that's simple, Gleneagles
Champion Stakes ( Group 1) 10f
From 8 trends
6 – FASCINATING ROCK, JACK HOBBS
5 – RIBBONS, THE CORSICAN
Jack Hobbs is clearly the horse to beat.
Ribbons in my opinion is the main danger if making a good appearance in this race
One to mention is Maverick Wave; each way, had a very poor run at Arlington on polytrack, but had a credible career best last time on turf.
