Hi Dave,
I have no data yet for the NH and could do with some advice on what stats to do. The flat is fairly easy, I separate stakes and hcps (rightly or wrongly) so I have pure data for each race type ie pure hcap data for a trainer at a track. Then within stakes and hcaps I can then query by age group if necessary.
For NH should I group all hcap hurdles and chases together or separate them and then there is the novices and stakes, do I separate the novice hurdlers in one query and the novice chases in another, or do I group all hurdles together and all the chases together.
At this moment in time I am leaning towards all hcaps together and all stakes together, then separate them if required.
The stats are supposed to spot trends either negative or postive, its just a question of working out which way is best to query the data to be able to spot those trends.
Onto todays work,
Ponte 4.30
MA Jarvis, just querying his stakes data for Ascot right now and have just seen Rakti's QE11 race data from 2004, anyway back to Ponte,
MA Jarvis has sent 14 2yo's to the track in stakes races with at least one previous run with 6 winning and 9 placed, the stable is 5 from 7 in Class 4 for 2yo's stakes. At 8F the stable is 1 from 5 in 2yo stakes races with the winner at 4/9, the average loser odds is 6/1.
Out of those 14 2yo's, 8 were fav with 6 winning and 7 placed, an impressive record, the sire Marju has had 2 winners from 6 runners in stakes races at the track with 3 placed, the sires record in hcaps is 1 winner from 14 with 1 placed.
While I am here might as well give the stats on Channons runner Finest Reserve, Channon is 3 from 22 with 2yo stakes races, and 0 from 10 in a Class 4 2yo stakes race but according to the data has had two class 1 wins in 2yo stakes races.
Channon is 2 from 4 at 8F in 2yo stakes races.
The sire Royal Applause is 4 from 25 in stakes with 13 placed and in hcaps is 6 from 63 with 14 placed.
