Three days of racing magic – 13th, 14th & 15th NovemberThe Open represents three days of the best that racing has to offer, with something for everyone. 18 races see many of the best horses in Europe going head to head, with exisiting and future champions thrilling the crowds.
The highlight of the meeting is Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup, a race that has been a Cheltenham feature since 1960 and won by many of the sports greatest names.
Friday is the hugely popular Countryside Raceday, with a traditional country fair atmosphere. Camel Racing, the Stallion Parade and up to 80 trade stands mean that there is something on offer for all tastes. Add in the thrills of top class racing, the season's first Cross Country Steeplechase over our unique course combining hedges, banks and timber rails and you have a wonderful sporting day out which is normally enjoyed by in excess of 20,000 people.
Sunday sees the up and coming stars of the hurdling world take centre stage in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle.

really cant wait for this meeting which starts friday 13th and as soon as i have some stats ect i will put them up -for the moment only thing i have read is that irish trainer edward o grady as his team in good form at the moment and his tranquil sea as attracted support for saturdays paddy power gold cup and in the same race david pipes the package is also gaining support with victor chandler 20/1-from 25/1 and that could be good value as stan james offer just 12/1

2nd race day one 1-50pm
The Sharp Novices' Hurdle is a Grade 2 National Hunt hurdle race in Great Britain which is open to horses aged four years or older. It is run on the Old Course at Cheltenham over a distance of 2 miles and 110 yards (3,319 metres), and during its running there are eight hurdles to be jumped. The race is for novice hurdlers, and it is scheduled to take place each year in November.
Before 1992 the distance of the race was set at 2 miles. It was then extended by a furlong, and then cut to the present length in 1994. Also at this time the event was switched to mid November, having previously taken place in December.

Race facts since '95
———————
Only 2 Favs from 14 have won , with 11 the remaining 12 returned at odds up to 16/1 .
11/14 had ran that season with ALL of those having been placed 1st – 4th.
13/14 had won at Cl 4 or better over hurdles or on the Flat.
Age range is well in favour of 4-5 year olds with 12 from those age's winning , the other 2 were 6y-o.

The ground at Cheltenham is currently good, good to soft in places but heavy rain is forecast for Friday and Saturday so I would not be at all surprised if it rides soft or at least good to soft all round so bear that in mind when punting.
Some great action this weekend, am most looking forward to seeing Tataniano who I hope will boost my ante-post confidence in him for the Arkle after a decent chase debut.
One I like in the Greatwood hurdle is Khyber Kim at 20/1. Twiston-Davies likes to target this opening meeting and his string are in form at the moment. He loves a bit of juice in the ground, he was decent on the flat and has an entry in the Fighting Fifth so he could be well in if he does prove to be up to that great, certainly worth an e/w bet but I will wait before stepping in until I have done my stats analysis and ratings but the price looks out of whack considering he ran a solid 2nd in the Gerry Fielden on his seasonal debut and this is a positive article from T-Davies, will probably start a fair bit shorter.
